幾乎所有的修行法門都很重視活在當下(BEING)。在澄心的說法是當下臨在。唯有當下是真實有力量的。
到底一個人現在『在』的成分是百分之多少，應該也是主觀的認知，自己透過自身的覺察，方能知曉。旁人也只能大概從顯露的跡像去判斷在或不在。好像看到地上有獸印，知道曾有獸走過。自我提點是否『在』最簡單的準則可以是此時此地，心思意念是否有專注在眼前的人事時地物。有無飄散，有無黏著？
正念的奇蹟書中的英譯者 摩比.候 寫的序有這段文字
當我坐下來翻譯《正念的奇蹟》時，我記起過去那養成我正念之修持的歲月片段。有一次，我正手忙腳亂地炒菜，偏偏又找不著一只原本放在胡亂堆棧的鍋子與材料間的湯匙，在我忙著四處搜尋時，老師(一行禪師)走進廚房，笑了。
他問︰
「摩比在找什麼？」
理所當然地，我回答︰
「湯匙！我在找湯匙！」
老師再次帶著微笑，回答道︰
「不，摩比在找摩比！」
人的心思意念常黏著在過去也會飄至未來。身在此地，心也會跑到異地。
深夜加油站遇見蘇格拉底的片段很好的演繹當下入流時，身心表現出來的良好狀況。
澄心裡，除了此時此地外，尚有此身。在開始時會透過身體掃瞄幫助澄心者和同行者進入較為臨在的狀況。在感受的過程則是透過身體的核對確保歴程中不迷航。身體是感覺、情緒伸展、舞動、奔騰、轉變、安歇的神聖場域。有些很傳神的說法，如

我的心好痛
心中的大石頭終於放下了
我緊張的胃疼
這故事讓我頭皮發麻
這事想到我就噁心
這音樂好聽到我起了鷄皮疙瘩
肩膀被壓的喘不過氣來了

我的身體輕飄飄
在專注覺察的當下。此時此地的界限模糊了，以此身去體驗、感受、核對，透過身心的互動，穿越模糊的邊境(EDGE)，連結了深感(FELT SENSE)。之後在空間內，會發生什麼，就很自然又令人期待了。
